For the price this kit is awesome. I actually just wanted the wideangle lens for hidef footage inside when its impossible to get far enough away from the subject - this does the trick. The zoom lens is a nice bonus and gives a (for the price) surpricingly pertubation free picture.

After spending a ton of money, the last thing most people want to do is go and spend just as much for expensive accessories. Anyone that gets a semi-serious HD camcorder is going to want to be able to shoot in all situations the best they can. These do just that.

The package came very banged up, but nothing was broken, and it is all in working order. I bought these lenses for my new Sony SR11 camcorder. After trying them out, they do have flaws, but for their price, they are really awesome. They come with plastic covers for both sides of the lens, and they come in a small leather bag; so they are well protected. They fit right on the camera and screw on nicely. They both do their job with only small noticeable issues. On the wide, when the optical image stabilization kicks in, you can sometimes see just a little tip of the lens in the bottom left corner. The telephoto will have a VERY noticeable ring on it when you are at full wide-angle. Although, when you zoom in about 3x, that goes away. Not really an issue, because you wouldn't put that lens on unless you were zooming way in anyhow.

The cleaning kit seemed pretty crappy, and the tripod is as well. Oh well, free extras.

I recommend anyone pick these up. You don't have much to loose, and they do have a lifetime warranty.

"Cheap lenses, defects" 2009-02-24

What a waste of $30. The wide angle lens I received had defects (specks) *in* the glass, so there was no way I could fix it. The telephoto was fine, but it wasn't as crisp as I would have liked for my SR11. The cleaning kit looks cute, but I haven't really tried using it yet. I'm hoping the seller will let me return this junk and get my money back, but it isn't his fault these lenses are no good.
